Samantha & Blake’s Timeless Outdoor Wedding in Maryland

Tell us the story of how you met: Blake and I met in Kindergarten where I kissed him during reading circle, and he told on me immediately! As we grew older, we remained in touch and inevitably became best friends. After many years and a very persistent Blake, we decided to try out a relationship. Since then, everything has just felt right.

Tell us about the proposal: Blake proposed at the top of the mountain my family's cabin is on in WV at sunset. We were dressed in our travel clothes as we had just arrived that day, and it rained all day up until it was time for the sun to go down. He brought a bottle of wine and got down on one knee behind me as I took in the views. He cleared his throat so I would turn around and I of course freaked out and said yes!

What moment did you most look forward to on your wedding day?

Why did you choose the Christian Royer House? We love how rural it felt and the history behind the mansion on the property, the pond and weeping willow were picture perfect for a marital ceremony.

Do you have any advice for future couples?

Never stop dating each other. Flirt like you just started dating.
